Administrative History
Freedom is a London-based anarchist newspaper published monthly by Freedom Press. The paper was started in 1886 by volunteers including Peter Kropotkin and Charlotte Wilson. In 2006, the paper gained a colour front for the first time in its history. Freedom got a re-design in January 2008. While remaining a fortnightly newspaper, it doubled the number of pages to 16. In late 2011 it switched from fortnightly to monthly publication, increasing its length to 24 pages.
Scope and Content
Freedom Anarchist Pamphlets no. 1-5, 7-8;
2 supplements from vol. 38.

Custodial History
The material in this collection was assembled from a number of individual collections donated to the Spirit of Revolt project. The decision to remove items from individual collections to construct complete, or near complete, runs of publications was taken to reduce duplications and make the publications more accessible to researchers.
