Direct Action is the magazine published today by the Solidarity Federation. It was the paper of the Syndicalist Workers’ Federation (IWMA). The Solidarity Federation adopted its current name in 1994, having previously been the Direct Action Movement since 1979, and before that the Syndicalist Workers’ Federation since 1950.

Custodial History
The material in this collection was assembled from a number of individual collections donated to the Spirit of Revolt project. The decision to remove items from individual collections to construct complete, or near complete, runs of publications was taken to reduce duplications and make the publications more accessible to researchers.
